Introduction to Business (Biz) was one of the first organizations I joined in college. I enjoyed the company and the people I met there, but I quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit for me. That’s when I discovered Phi Beta Sigma, a historically black fraternity for business majors. The organization spoke my language and I found a home in the brotherhood.
As a small business owner, you know that your biggest asset is your team. But finding the right people for your company has been a challenge. Finding qualified candidates has been even harder. Even if you find the right candidates, it’s difficult to know if you can trust them.
“I didn’t always want to be a CEO. I wanted to be a big fish in a small pond. I wanted to be the CEO of a small company. I wanted to be the CEO of a big company.”
Bigger Better Business, Phi Beta Sigma, the National Social Secret Society, the National Business Social Society, and the National Association of Black Businesses, are great groups to join to learn business, and it is my sincere hope that you will consider participating in one of these organizations, which are all part of one of the largest and most influential networks of African American business owners, professionals, and students in the world.
Empowering Generations of Men to BELIEVE in Advocacy, Community Service, and Engagement
This was a background on the organizations. The role BBB and PBS play in the community and the world is big.
